The Pin Show is most certainly one of my top events to attend in Dallas! Each year designers, models, stylists and fashion mavens flock to this independent runway production to see whats fresh on the fashion scene. Known for exposing emerging fashion designers, The Pin Show fused fashion and music simultaneously to a sold out crowd this year. Spotted in the crowd was Dallas' most recognized... Steve Kemble, Hamilton Sneed, Courtney Walker, Leah Frazier, Christian Craven and RHODallas cast member LeeAnne Locken!
Upon entering The Bomb Factory it was almost an immediate reaction to snap a GREAT selfie in the oversized, lighted makeup mirror greeting you inside (who am I fooling? I did…). A few more steps and your gasping at how well BBD designed the light and steel structured stage.
With the Video Wall lighting up the 50,000 square foot event space, aerialists, dancers and Zhora providing the tunes, the scene was set for a night of fashion passion.
The Pin Show gave me allll my life with live performances by Dezi5- who brought the crowd in with his Dallas B*tch hit, Ronnie Heart who reminded me of a mellow Michael Jackson/Bruno Mars mix and my new favorite Dallas artist SAM LAO! That girl had me feeling myself! (Sidenote: I LITERALLY jammed her tunes for dayssss after). Though there were 22 selected independent designers, quite a few grabbed my attention!
Commecci is a glamorous lingerie collection whose lilac and purple silks with fuzzy pumps caught my attention and locked in on my fashion soul. The silk gowns and robes graciously wavered down the runway giving just the right amount of sexy.
Next up on my list is Flawless Honey and its flawless… honey! Jameelah and her designs are so bright and fun. This is for the ultimate lady who enjoys being the POP of color in the room. Cheetah prints, radiant flowers and electric blues were the hues…..
Now usually everyone resorts to an all black fit but if you know me then you KNOW I love to give Godly so when Jae Ladi and her white collection hit the path I went to fashion heaven! Her crisp white collection pumped with sleek floor length dresses, halter pant suits, bridal pant suit topped with a detachable tulle skirt (gave me goosebumps) and her Eva Perón finale dress was stellar!
Silk Threads bold colored dresses were fantastic! What I especially love about the collection is the drapery. Enough to add character to the piece but still keep the elegance of the design. The south asian- american inspired collection added a necessary culture pop to The Pin Show.
Folksie- crafted and created by The Pin Shows Executive Director/ Founder Julie McCullough hit a home run each year with perfectly constructed pieces suitable for any silhouette. The Cream Wrap Coat was the most lovely coat I've eyed all season. With a collection full of classic tunic dresses and jumpsuits capped with Stetsons, Folksie gave just the right dose of Southern Comfort.
Wonders by Candace flaunted colorful bohemian tops and jackets saucy for any woman that loves color, texture and prints. From the cropped tops adorned with popping prints to the wide legged printed pants, Ms. Candace has a new fashion lover in me.
Each year The Pin Show casts euphoric sensations through my body and the 2016 showcase sent me into a fashion and music coma! By far my favorite Pin Show experience to date! Thank you so much to The Pin Show team for the invite each year and this good ole goody bag full of Stila Cosmetics!
