Essence's Black Women In Hollywood Luncheon ftg Tracee Ellis Ross & More! Set To Air On OWN

On February 25, 2016 ESSENCE is set to honor three fierce, legendary and powerful women of Hollywood. Exceptional actress Tracee Ellis Ross, the multi-talented Debbie Allen and entertainment attorney Nina Shaw will receive the 2016 Black Women in Hollywood Award.

ESSENCE Editor-In-Chief, Vanessa De Luca and her team are highlighting the influence of those who continue to impact the growth of diversifying “big screen” opportunities.

Melting into Oscar week’s star-studded events the 9th Annual Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon will broadcast February 27th at 10 p.m. ET/PT on OWN. Past honorees include Jada Pinkett-Smith, Gabourey Sidibe, Ruby Dee and Suzanne de Passe.

One of the most anticipated celebrity gatherings, the 9th Annual Black Women in Hollywood luncheon will host appearances by Oprah Winfrey, Nick Cannon and Zendaya just to list a few.

As an added treat for the afternoon is Fort Worth's own acclaimed singer Leon Bridges who will give a special soulful performance.

ESSENCE, known to continuously create opportunities for women will also be announcing the winning filmmaker of this year’s 3rd annual Black Women in Hollywood Short Film Contest.
